While looking at products and services overseas I found an interesting article first published by Irena related to jobs in the renewable energy industry. After going into their historical articles it was interesting to see a nice steady growth in the industry showing a jobs in the industry at:
2016 with 9.8 Million jobs (a 1.1% increase from the previous year)
2017 with about 500 000 job increase to 10.3 million jobs (5% increase)
2018 with about 700 000 jobs increase to 11 million jobs (6% increase)
This is great news and very interesting to see how this sector increases job capacity while reducing manufacturing costs on Solar equipment. Panels for instance are a fraction of the cost they were 5 or 10 years ago.
2019 figures should be an interesting read.
